A New Calling...

So at tithing settlement the bishop asked what they had me doing and I said I was on the enrichment committee. I loved it I would get stressed out once every 4 month and then have time to relax. Well not anymore...Last saturday I was called into the primary yes the primary... by myself...no Ammon...I have never done primary... and as you can tell I am a little nervous. So I was called on Saturday and I thought I would have one more week to enjoy Sunday School and Relief Society. But I thought wrong they needed a sub so they asked me if I could start right away. Luckly church doesn't start until 11am so I had a little time to prepare. I am starting to really warming up to the idea and I am excited for this new opportunity...this will be good for me... I am teaching the CTR 5 class and my first week they were all so cute, they warmed right up to me and I learned alot on how to prepare for my next lesson. This will definitly be a different pace for me going from teaching teenages all day 5 days a week to teaching 4-5 year old on Sunday. I am already thinking of fun things to add to my project list.

2007 Review...

Well, I started blogging just last month so I thought I might share all the exciting things that took place in 2007. (I am sorry for alot of you this is probably review, I give you permission to skip this blog entry!!!)

March: The Search for new doctors...Well I am sure you are all aware of Ammon's fear of the dentist. And who can blame him after all the trama he has been through. So with my connections at work I started searching around for a new dentist. We found a awesome dentist in Springville that does amazing work. We have been so pleased with the practice. So we have completed our search for a great dentist. Ammon of course didn't have any cavities this year. But me on the other hand had many. But I can explain...So I had 8 amalgam fillings (The Silver ones) and they all were beginning to crack and bacteria was seeping though so I had to have them all refilled. Something good did come out of this I do not have anymore silver filling in my mouth. Another big event that happened in March was I found a new Neurologist here in the Provo area and we have been so pleased with him. He took me off the Medication that was causing so many problems and decided to just monitor me. I go in every 6 months for a check up and every year for a MRI. We have been so excited about our two new finds.

May: Havasupai...This adventure actually started in January...this place get booked up so fast that we had to reserve in January. So we had some time to prepare. We invited my family (it was Breannes and Jennifers first time backpacking and next time I will have them start with something a little lighter) and we also invited Ammon's good friend from work and his wife. The morning we left we got a late start and we ended up hiking in the 100 degree weather with no trees for shade. I think we were all struggling pretty bad. But seeing the waterfalls made the hike worth it. I told Ammon this was definitely a once in a lifetime hike. But I am starting to warm up to the idea of maybe one day I'll go back down. I do have to admit that we had the option to fly our packs out on a helicopter for $25 and I jump on that pretty fast. I think we were the first one in line that morning. It was the best $25 dollar I have ever spent!! All in all it was a great trip.

June: We bought our first home (Townhome). We are so excited to be in Spanish Fork. We have really enjoyed the quietness and the windows... We had loved our time in our little basement apartment and we loved living below Uncle Ray we are so grateful for him and all that he did for us. We sure do miss him. Luckly we still get a little bit a mail so we try and run up every so often. Here are a couple pictures of the townhome. It is a 3 bedroom 2 bath. It has been just perfect for us. I can lay out all of my crafts and not worry that they are getting in Ammons way. And the most important thing is...IT HAS WINDOWS I get so excited to open up the blinds every morning!! I took a couple pictures of the outside if you want to see the inside you will just have to come and visit!!

July: Oregon and Family Reunion in Idaho... My family is trying to get together each summer and do a family vacation. So this year we decided to go to Oregon and stay in a beach house and just tour along the coast. We had a great time... we would just tour the many sites during the day and have dinner and in the evening go down to the beach were my dad would go metal detecting and we would walk up and down the beach watching for seals to pop their heads out of the water. We had such a nice and relaxing time.

Ammon and I left a day earlier because we wanted to see Mt. St. Helens. So instead of taking oh maybe 4 hours tops it took us 8 hours we kind of went the wrong way but we got there just in time to see the mount before the sun went down. That night we stayed at my Aunt Barbara's house she had just gotten done with were series of treatment of Kemo Therapy a few weeks earlier. It was nice to be in her home and spend some time with her.

On to our next journey... from Oregon we were heading right to the Ashby family reunion in Idaho. We stayed is a lovely cabin near Cascade Lake (I think that was the name!??) We had a great time! This year Angie and Gary were in charge and they did an amazing job organizing and coming up with great games. They had made the theme of the reunion a "What about Bob" Reunion... they had different games that went along with the movie.

After a couple day at the lake it was time to get ready for our annual backpacking trip. This year Rodney was in charge of picking the desination. He had picked Seven devils in the Hells Canyon region. We started hiking around 5pm and we had to go about 6 miles so we were hiking well into the night. We had a great time together and can't wait for our next adventure together!

Well as you can tell our summer was pretty eventful...Our fall isn't that exciting I started with a new class full of students I was really excited this year I double my number of students plus they added a new program Dental Office Administration so most of the summer I was creating a new program. Ammon started school in August he started going in the evening and it has been working out nicely.

December: Graduations... We had a busy month with graduations, my sister Bridget graduated from Utah State with a double Masters so that was really neat to go up and see her go through the cerimony. Rodney graduated a week later and we missed the graduation because of the big snow storm that moved in the night we were suppose to leave.

We are excited to start a new year with new goals. We have many fun adventures planned for the upcoming year and we are excited to share them with you!
