Life just got a little BUSY....

While we were in Maryland a couple week ago Ammon was sustained as the Young Men's President. We had known for a few weeks, but didn't know exactly when it would all take place. Well, on Sunday, April 20th it was official. I think Ammon is still in shock!

Also, I know Ammon will think this is so silly but I just had to post this because I am so proud of him...so this week Ammon had his 3 month appointment with his diabete doctor and for the year or so we have been working on trying to his A1C down below 7. I know this probably doesn't make any sense, but is has to do with is what his blood levels are on an average in a 3 month period. So anyways he went in and had the blood test done. The doctor comes into the room and announces that his A1C is 6.8 I was just so excited I felt like jumping up and down with excitement.

Also, for another happy note...Ammon has declared Construction Management for his major. This has been one of the hardest decisions for Ammon. We are trying to get him into BYU for maybe winter semester...but we will see how that all turns out!!

Pictures from our trip to Maryland!

A Trip to the Whipples...

Last week was spring break for my work so we decided to pack our bags and head on out to Maryland to visit the sweet Whipple family. When Ammon and I were flying home after our cruise Delta airlines asked if there was anyone willing to be bumped due to the fact they over booked so we figured well we have been waiting here in the same airport for 9 hours what is 3 more hours. So I rushed up to the counter to see what the details were...Well, in my option it was definitly worth waiting another 3 hours. They gave us meal vouchers and $800 dollars in Delta Credit. We had wanted to visit the Whipples this year but because of the price of flight we were having a hard time making that happen. I have come to the conclusion that Ammon and I really do luck out on some of our trips;)

Well, Thurday morning Ammon and I woke up bright and early (3am early) to be at the airport by 5am (you know the whole 2 hours early thing). And as usual we had plenty of time to walk around and do our Bagel tradition. We had a 3 hour layover in Atlanta, we enjoy some Chick-fil-a. Yummy!! We arrived in Baltimore about 5:45pm. What a long day! Thursday night we enjoyed so yummy taco salad and visited!

Friday was a beautiful day it was about 82 degrees. I am so glad I packed those shorts at the last minute. After they girls were off to school we headed off to Mount Vernon! I hadn't been back to Mount Vernon since our 8th grade trip. Boy how things have changed! Brian and Brenda waited in line for the tour to see Washington's house while Ammon and I went and saw the other highlights. Thanks Brian and Brenda! After the tour of the house we headed over to the cafe to get something to eat. And then off to the visiters center. That is were we saw George Washington's dentures.

Saturday was another beautiful day about 86 degrees. The girls were out of school (of course, its is Saturday) so we packed up the van and headed to Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. On our way to Philadelphia we held strong to the Whipple's Road Trip Tradition and we watch a Barbie Movie! When we went to Niagara Falls we watched "12 dancing princesses" and on this trip we saw "Barbie and Rapunzel". I really think these movies are starting to grow on me!! We had a great time we had a car picnic, toured Independence Hall and were able to see the Liberty Bell.

Sunday the weather turned rainy. It rained all day. We stayed inside and took naps, played games, and chatted! At church Shaylee was so sweet and gave Ammon and I this cute picture. Ammon and I have decided to start a book of all the cute pictures our neices and nephews draw for us. It is always the highlight of our day when we see a cute letter in the mail or when they surprise us with one when we come and visit!

Thanks again Shaylee we love the drawing and its hanging up in our kitchen!!

Monday was the day we flew home...so sad...the time always flies by so fast. We didn't have a lot of time. Ammon was reading Fablehaven on the way out and finished the book so we needed to find the second book. So we did a little shopping and had lunch at the Mall. We were hoping to find a Baltimore shirt at the airport but we had no luck. We will just have to leave that for our next trip.

Thank you Whipples for letting us come and visit! We love you and can't wait to see you in July. We miss you!

Babysitting, MS walk and Eggroll night...

So Ammon and I had a very eventful weekend...Friday night Erin and Travis brought Canyon and Kayli over to spend the night while they went to dinner and to a bed and breakfast for their anniverary! Happy Anniverary Erin and Travis! Meanwhile back at the house we decided to have pizza party, we laid out a blanket in front of the tv and watch "The Bee Movie" and had hawaiian pizza. After the movie it was bedtime.

During story time Kayli went over and laid by Canyon, it was so sweet so I had to take this picture...(Erin your copy is in the mail)

Saturday we had the MS walk down in Salt Lake so we packed up the kids bright and early and headed down to the walk. The kids were so great...no problems whatsoever! The walk started at 10am and was a three mile walk. Canyon used his scooter for most of the way and Kayli walked off and on throughout the walk. Dawn, Ray and our good friends the Wildes joined us for the walk...Thank you for all of your support! After the walk we meet up with Erin and Travis and we all went to lunch at Applebees.

Ammon and I rushed home for our eggroll night with our friends which turned our great! I was running alittle late so I didn't get the kitchen cleaned up after the prep work so I apoligize to you all for having to see such a messy kitchen!!!

Just a funny story...

So, the other day Ammon was reading his bosses blog and noticed a post about their new secretary and how great she was and all of this stuff... so Ammon went to work the next day and gave Chris a hard time about not mentioning him on their blog...totally kidding of course;) So the next time we logged on to see their blog this is what we saw....

Employee of the Month...

...beside Emily (our new secretary). This is Chris with his favorite employee Ammon Ashby while they were on their cruise together in the Carribbean...ha,ha... I do love photoshop. This is our tribute to him and all of the hardwork he does for us. Thanks so much Ammon!

Let the Lessons Begin...

Well, we did it! Ammon and I started violin lessons! We found this lady in town that does it out of her home, so for a half hour once a week we are exercising our minds. We played together in Jr. High and when High School started we thought it wasn't cool to play the violin so we both stopped. Boy how the times have changed! 16 years later we are finally coming to our senses that music is an important thing to have in our lives!
