Holy Cow Lizzy missed a lot!

The end of June was our Jewkes Family Reunion. This year we had it up at the Heber Valley Camp. Everything was just wonderful! Thanks to everyone for all the hard work! Thank you Brenda for those wonderful history books!

In July we had our Ashby family reunion. Everyone was there except for my two brother in-laws. We do it every other year, and go backpacking every year. It was such a blast. The theme this year was: "The Incredibles". We went to Emmett Idaho and all stayed at my sisters home. We played "Incredible" games, went white water rafting in the Payette River, out to eat, waverunning at the lake, we even had a huge paintball war at the end. And of course we went backpacking and fishing for three days in the white cloud mountain range. It was great to have everyone together for a week.
The group that went on the backbacking trip!

We took 2 trips down the Payette River this is group #1!

Group #2 Nearly everyone fell out at least once on the rapids this time around. Even Erin at 7 months pregnant! This group was pretty entertaining. Lizzy and I were about to go down twice! We had so much fun!

My sister Brenda, and her family were even out from Maryland and stayed for 6 weeks. It was good to see them. We only get the chance to see them about twice a year at the most. We went to Hale Theatre, played games and as always had late discussions about fun stuff..like politics...which Lizzy hates.
We planned on getting sick when the reunion was over and sure enough Lizzy got pink eye and bronchitis..Atleast she was kind of expecting it this time right?
For the 4th of July we went to the Stadium of Fire and saw Glenn Beck, the Blue Man Group, and Miley Cirus.. that was a wierd treat. The fireworks were amazing but it was weird watching 40 year old moms with their daughters going crazy over a 15 year old girl. I was squashed by two ten year olds, and I am a pretty big guy!

In August it was our anniversary among many others including my parents. Lizzy's little sister got married and my older sister got married. Oh ya.. and we found out we are going to have a baby! -So I guess we won't be backpacking much for the next 9 months. We are sure excited! I hope its a boy. But judging by the number of girls in both our families we are thinking most likely a girl...either way we will be happy.
Its going to be pretty busy around here for a while.. I started school again too. I left out a lot of detail but that about sums it all up.

I had to read excerpts from your blog to Brent. What fun fun families! The reunion sounds amazing--paintballing, backpacking, white water rafting, sheesh. And, CONGRATS on little Ashby. I think I'll let Liz tell Jordyn so she can see how excited Jordyn gets. When's the due date?

You did a great job of catch up, and making us all want an invitation to the next Ashby reunion, or backpack trip. I'll probably require one of those 4wheelers tho. :)Aunt Susie
