A Friday Night Adventure...
So last friday Ammon and I decided we wanted to go up to Granddaddy lakes in the Uintas for a overnight backpacking trip. We planned to be packed and ready to go by 4pm. Well, that didn't happen we ended up leaving around 6:30pm. So we thought to cut out the Friday evening traffic through Utah Country and head up highway 6 and go over to Strawberry Resevoir. We followed the signs to Strawberry and about 19 miles up the road split, there wasn't any signs saying strawberry this way...so we went with our best judgement (and also the map) which we later found out was wrong. So Friday night we spend 4 1/2 hours driving on a small dirt road through Spanish Fork Canyon. So about 11:00 we finally found the city lights and the road lead us to Hobble Creek.
So from the story you can assume that we didn't make it to Granddaddy lakes. But I do have to say it was one beautiful evening. Ammon and I did find some quiet little camping spots for some future trips!

Sorry you never made it to your destination, but it sounds like you at least had joy in the journey, right!? I'm glad you guys got to finally go have some time together after all the busy nights!
Sounds like you made a bummer night into an enjoyable little adventure. :) You guys do so many cool things together. We'll have to crash one of your campouts sometime!
